When I decided to move to Boulder, I'd never been here and didn't know a soul.
I worked in the corporate world in Chicago. Michigan Avenue, even.
Everyone said, "What? You're just going to pick up and move? But your whole LIFE is here!"
I was only 29.
Working corporate jobs that didn't inspire me. Living in an urban place I hated. Horrible weather. A place where I never quite found my people, my tribe.
To me, the truest response to those people who claimed my whole life was there was to say
"I'll build a new life. One that fits me better. I'm ONLY 29."
And that's exactly what I did.
Last week marked 8 years in Boulder. The same amount of time I spent in Chicago. These past 8 years have been some of the best of my life.
I made huge changes. Including...
I'm self employed doing work I ADORE. That makes the world a better place. I've got kindred tribe like I've never had before.
My life is abundant. I feel at home and inspired. The weather here is gorgeous and I have access to wild nature right out my front door. Every single day evolves me.
None of this was true of my life there. I'm SO glad I took that big leap.
I did it simply by listening to my inner guidance. I've never felt that guided in my life. All I had to do was say yes. And keep saying yes when I felt challenged.
I'm grateful everyday that I did. I may not stay in Boulder forever, but what I've gained here is valuable to me beyond measure and has helped me see who I am.
What INCREDIBLE blessings and privilege! I'm convinced that this is what comes when we listen and say yes. Whether you're 17 or 29 or 47 or 82, listening to your inner guidance will get you there.
I promise. Sometimes it's a whisper. Sometimes it's so loud you can't avoid it. Keep listening.
Can you relate to my story? I'd love to hear from you. Leave me a comment below and share about your big leap. Or the big leap you know you want to make, but haven't yet.
And please share this post on Facebook to circulate the inspiration!
With all my love,
