Nowadays, I tend to think of the inner war as just a given because of how common it is. A part of the reality of our culture. Especially for women. The standard of what the perfect woman is is always shifting and our attempts to hit that moving target result in an intense diet of self doubt, not-enoughness, pushing ourselves, and shoulds.
We fight ourselves.
This I know intimately. I catch myself fighting against myself on the yoga mat, in relationship with time and money, and when it comes to letting the voice of spirit move through me without me interrupting and getting in the way.
It's still a practice for me to surrender fully and BE rather than push, do (it all on my own), and concoct. But the more I do it, the more the internal war calms and the more connected I feel.
Just because this internal warring thing is a given in our culture doesn't mean we can't heal it.
Enter, The Divine Mother.
She's the smell of home. The overwhelming soft, warm love that fills the room and makes you feel like you belong (even if your human mom didn't).
She understands your nuances even more deeply than you do and can reflect them back to you in a way where you can see your brilliance and everything just...fits.
She slows you down, opens you with a soft blooming, and clears out the "I can't" with a felt sense of all the ways that you can.
She reminds you that you're the Goddess too. In the flesh.
She is unconditional love. The vastness and reliability of her compassion heals all the places you believe are beyond love. No matter how heinous.
You can find her in Mother Mary. In the embrace of the earth. In a circle of women.
She's unconditional love, all-encompassing compassion, belonging, and peace. And she lives inside you. And she's not there only to be given to others. You need her for yourself too.
Reach inside yourself and touch her. She's the one that'll help you end the internal war because her medicine---unconditional love and compassion---is the most powerful there is.
If you needed this reminder, your closest girlfriends probably do too. Use the share button below to let them know you love them and it's ok to need a bit of mothering too.
With all the love from the Divine Mother in ME,
